Learning Resource Centre

The Library is a centre where pupils can come to read books, magazines or the daily newspapers, they can use the computers for project or coursework. There is also a pay as you go colour photocopier.

The Library is run by Mrs M Rees.

It is open for everyone to use at break time each day.

During lesson time Form 6 use the facilities to work.

Lunch time on a Wednesday there is Reading Club and Each Spring we have Carnegie Book Review Club All interested are welcome.

We have a selection of Junior, Teenage and Adult Fiction Books which students and Staff can borrow free of charge and for two weeks at a time.

We have a wide selection of Non Fiction and Reference books to choose from and Staff on hand to help with navigating the shelves.

The Library has eighteen Computers available to do school work on and two printers.

Teachers also book the Library in advance for various subject lessons to do research e.g.

English Dept

Welsh Baccalaureate

History

Health & Social Care.

Public Services etc.

The Learning Resource Centre was refurbished a few years ago, with the assistance of the hardwork and fundraising efforts of the School PTA, the Friends of Porth County.
