Our department consists of 10 widely experienced teachers and 1 multi-skilled technician. The departmental team are:-

We teach in 11 specialist classrooms which consist of 5 general workshops, one electronics workshop, one drawing office, one food technology room, one textile technology workshop, one IT suite and 2 classrooms.
Our Department delivers a wide variety of courses through Key Stage3 to Key Stage 5, a selection of which is given below:-
GCSE Design & Technology (Resistant Materials and Graphics)

- BTEC Firsts in Engineering
- BTEC Introductory in Engineering/Construction

Delivery of Design & Technology at Key Stage 3 is split into various modules that cover the National Curriculum. Schemes of work cover the following areas:-
- Designing Skills (Graphical Presentation techniques)
- Making Skills (Resistant Materials and Compliant Materials)
- Systems and Control
- Using and developing a knowledge about Materials
- Using and understanding Structures
We are a highly skilled and motivated team, which has developed excellent working links with outside companies/agencies, so that the quality of teaching and learning is relevant to the outside working environment.
