What is 5x60?

Promoting a Healthy Lifestyle in our sports clubs

Pupils across Wales are set to experience a new dimension in the way sport and physical activity is delivered in secondary schools. Funded by the Welsh Assembly Government and managed by the Sports Council for Wales, 5 x 60 is rising to the challenge by helping to create the environment necessary for children to take part in extra-curricular sport and physical activity on a regular basis. Opportunities are plentiful and include traditional competitive sports, informal recreational activities such as dance, coached activities and outdoor adventurous activities to include mountain biking, orienteering,
climbing and even surfing!

So what are you waiting for? GET WITH IT!

Nathan, our new 5x60 co-ordinator introduces himself to students...

Hi! My name is Nathan and I’m your 5 x 60 Officer here at Porth County Community School.

I’ll be organising all your lunch time and after school activities during the next school year ranging from Dodgeball to Dance and Mountain Biking to Snorkelling.

5 x 60 is all about enjoyment and having fun so if you have any suggestions for activities we could arrange for future sessions please don’t hesitate to tell me.

I can be found either in the P.E. department or with the E3 team and will be wandering around during break and lunch times to enrol you all onto my activities!

I look forward to meeting you all!
